If, as a business, you’re looking to work with an agency on website design in Amersham, it’s worth looking at some of the design trends expected to be popular this year when you’re putting together your brief.
The Innovation Enterprise Channels recently highlighted the top trends you need to be aware of. You may even find that browsing through these gives you some inspiration for your own project. Being able to share examples of designs you like can be helpful for any designer you’re working with.
One of the top trends to watch out for is what the news provider described as “nature-inspired design”. Think fewer straight lines and the likes of rectangles and squares, and instead more fluid lines and softer edges.
Why should you consider this kind of design for your website? Because it “usually feels newer while at the same time more accessible for customers”, the news site noted.
Retro and vintage are also themes to watch, but maybe not in the way that you’re imagining. Innovation Enterprise Channels explained that the retro feel in website design is more about “getting back on the pedestal of colour, simplicity in fonts and socio-cultural topics belong on the screen”.
However, that’s not to say that there can’t be a simple, and in some cases brutalist, approach to web design if that fits with your company’s brand. Monochromatic designs are also coming to the fore. That doesn’t have to mean black and white though, it might involve using one bright colour alongside black to create a real impact, for instance.
If you’re also planning to overhaul your logo as part of a wider rebrand, think carefully about the font you decide to use.
According to Innovation Enterprise Channels “simplicity today is seen as seriousness, so the tendency in 2019 is to get back to basics with regards to fonts as it adds seriousness to the website’s design”.
This also clarifies a brand’s message and makes it more accessible to everyone, the website added.
Earlier this month DesignModo also highlighted some top trends in web design to watch in 2019. As well as a number of aesthetic design trends, the site also identified user interface (UI) trends that businesses need to be aware of, even if they’re not ready to embrace them just yet.
Among them is the move towards voice interfaces in a growing number of places. As more and more people introduce smart devices into their homes, the desire for voice interfaces is set to grow.
That means considering how this might work with your brand and your website, and from a design perspective how you’ll integrate designs into these devices. One big thing to understand from this trend is that it “makes the content on your website that much more important”, the website noted.
It added: “Voice interfaces are rooted in “reading” websites for information and data. So text context matters a great deal.”
As well as the rising popularity of bright colours in web design, DesignModo also noted that gradients are increasingly being used and are “the multipurpose colour trend that work on pretty much any type of design”.
